About Kill This Love Album
Kill This Love is the second Korean extended play (third overall) by South Korean girl group Blackpink, released on April 5, 2019, by YG Entertainment and distributed through YG Plus and Interscope Records. It marked their first Korean release since Square Up in June 2018, and their first collaboration with Interscope Records.
The title track, “Kill This Love,” was released as the lead single and achieved significant success, peaking at number two in South Korea and becoming the first top 50 hit by a female K-pop act in the United States and the United Kingdom. The track “Don’t Know What to Do” was also promoted on Korean music programs.
Kill This Love debuted at number 24 on the US Billboard 200, with 19,200 units sold, including over 9,100 pure sales. This made it the highest-charting album by a female K-pop group at the time. The EP also charted in the top ten in various countries including Canada, Japan, New Zealand, and South Korea, and reached the top twenty in Australia. It was certified platinum by the Korea Music Content Association (KMCA) in June 2019 for selling 250,000 units, becoming Blackpink’s second EP to achieve this. In July 2024, it was certified triple platinum for selling 750,000 units.
