Way Back Love Storyline

Jung Hui Wan is a 24-year-old woman who doesn’t have the will to live. She lives her life as a recluse. One day, her childhood friend and first love, Kim Ram U, appears in front of her. He died 6 years ago and is now a grim reaper.

When Ram U was alive, they were best friends and also had feelings for each other. Due to their own reasons, they did not tell the other person how they felt. An accident then caused Ram U’s death. Now, Ram U tells Heui Wan that she has only 1 week before she dies. He continues to tell her that if she wants to die peacefully, she needs to call his name 3 times.

Hui Wan, who lives a lonely life, doesn’t want to separate from him again and does not call his name. Ram U gets her to make a bucket list of things to do before she dies, and they carry out her list together.

About Way Back Love TV Series

Way Back Love (Korean: 내가 죽기 일주일 전) is a South Korean romantic fantasy television series directed by Choi Ha Na and written by Song Hyun Ju and Jang In Jeong. It stars Gong Myung and Kim Min Ha in the lead role.

It is adapted from the novel “A Week before I Die” (내가 죽기 일주일 전) by Seo Eun Chae (서은채).

In November 2023, Gong Myung and Kim Min-ha were confirmed as the lead actors for the series. Two months later, TVING revealed the full casting lineup, which includes Gong Myung, Kim Min-ha, Jung Gun-joo, Oh Woo-ri, Ko Chang-seok, and Seo Young-hee.

Way Back Love K-drama Release Date

Way Back Love premiered on TVING on April 3, 2025. It is also available for streaming on Viki and Viu in selected regions. The series was invited as one of the six drama series in the On Screen section of the 29th Busan International Film Festival.
