A 17-year-old girl who survived a horrible accident at her family’s summer home two years ago that she cannot remember. She returns, determined to remember the details of her accident but as the pieces start to come together, she discovers not only the painful truth of that night, but a shocking revelation about herself.

About We Were Liars TV Series
We Were Liars is an upcoming American psychological thriller television series based on the 2014 novel of the same name by E. Lockhart.
My So-Called Company and Universal Television picked E. Lockhart’s popular young adult book , We Were Liars, and its prequel, Family of Liars, in July 2022. It was revealed in December that Amazon MGM Studios was working on a television adaptation of the book; in March 2023, the show got a series order.
In March 2024, it was announced that Nzingha Stewart would direct the first episode of the series.
On April 1, 2023, Lockhart’s Instagram page published an open casting call for the series’ four primary roles. It was revealed on May 30, 2024, that Emily Alyn Lind, Subham Maheshwari, Esther McGregor, and Joseph Zada would play Cadence, Gat, Mirren, and Johnny, respectively.
On March 5, 2024, Mamie Gummer, Caitlin FitzGerald, and Candice King were made public as members of the cast. Late May 2024 saw David Morse, Arsher Ali, and Wendy Crewson revealed as cast members; however, Ali was replaced by Rahul Kohli the following month.
Principal photography began in June 2024. Filming took place in Nova Scotia and was completed by late September 2024.
