About Vishwambhara Movie

Vishwambhara is a Telugu fantasy action film written and directed by Mallidi Vassishta and produced by UV Creations. It stars Chiranjeevi, Trisha Krishnan, Kunal Kapoor, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and Ashika Ranganath in lead roles.

Vishwambhara was officially announced on August 22, 2023, under the tentative title Mega 156, marking it as Chiranjeevi’s 156th film. The announcement coincided with his birthday. The film was launched with a muhurtam pooja on October 23, 2023, in Hyderabad, attended by the film’s crew and several prominent figures from Telugu cinema. Vishwambhara is being produced under the banner of UV Creations.

Initially, there were rumors that the film might be a sequel to the 1990 fantasy film Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, in which Chiranjeevi also played the lead role. However, Vyjayanthi Movies, the production house behind Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, clarified on Twitter that they owned the rights to the film and any potential derivative works, including a sequel. While there was no direct mention of Vishwambhara by Vyjayanthi Movies, it was speculated that the crew of Vishwambhara had been cautioned about the consequences of creating an unauthorized derivative. Director Vassishta later confirmed that Vishwambhara is an original story and unrelated to Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari.

Filming: The production of Vishwambhara involved creating thirteen distinct sets at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad, with production designer A. S. Prakash overseeing the set construction. It was reported that approximately 70% of the film would heavily rely on visual effects to depict spiritual elements. In late 2023 and January 2024, a few scenes without Chiranjeevi were shot in Maredumilli, with the actor joining the sets in early February 2024.

The overseas distribution rights were acquired by Sarigama Cinemas for ₹18 crore. Due to the unavailability of actresses Asin and Anushka Shetty, Trisha Krishnan was cast as the lead heroine, marking her return to Telugu cinema after 8 years since Nayaki.

Filming began in Nalgonda but soon shifted back to Hyderabad in late February. During this schedule, an action sequence and several songs were filmed. One of the songs was choreographed by Shobhi Master and featured a set previously used in Guntur Kaaram. Another song was choreographed by Vijay Binni. An action sequence was filmed at Ramoji Film City in a constructed forest environment, where Chiranjeevi and the other fighters were covered in mud to enhance the realism of the scene. The mud was made from real sand to achieve a natural appearance.

The final action sequence was filmed at Lingampally in late 2024, where a large set with a 54-foot (16 m) Hanuman statue was constructed by A. S. Prakash. On April 22, 2024, the action sequence was completed after 26 days of filming, marking the longest time Chiranjeevi had ever spent on a single stunt in his career. Another filming schedule began on May 22, 2024, with the primary portion of the film shot at the Annapurna Seven Acres studio in Hyderabad.
