Veeram Storyline
Ajith is back, and this time its a rural avatar. Set in the backdrop of a village, Ajith sports a white veshti with his usual salt and pepper look. Veeram, as the name suggests, is an action-packed drama revolving around Ajith and his brothers Vidharth, (Myna
fame), Bala, Suhail and Munish. The film is much-anticipated because of the fresh pairing of Tamannaah and Ajith, punchy dialogues and DSPs foot-tapping numbers which are already a hit. Pradeep Rawath, Naseer and Santanam also appear in pivotal roles.
About Veeram Movie
Veeram is a Tamil romantic action comedy film directed by Siva and produced by Vijaya Productions. Starring Ajith Kumar and Tamannaah Bhatia, the film features a supporting cast that includes Vidharth, Bala, Santhanam, Nassar, Pradeep Rawat, and Atul Kulkarni. The music was composed by Devi Sri Prasad, with cinematography by Vetri and editing by Kasi Viswanathan.
The project was speculated in November 2011 when Vijaya Productions aimed to commemorate B. Nagi Reddy’s centenary. Initially, Anushka Shetty was considered for the female lead. Ajith Kumar signed on in December 2011, and a poster confirmed Siva as the director, with Vetri and Yuvan Shankar Raja as the cinematographer and music composer, respectively.
Filming began on 5 April 2013 in Hyderabad and continued for two weeks. The movie was initially rumored to be titled Vetri Kondaan or Vinayagam Brothers before finalizing Veeram. The shoot wrapped up on 2 November 2013. A notable stunt sequence featuring Ajith hanging from a moving train was filmed near the Odisha border.
The film follows a courageous man and his four younger brothers in a village setting. It draws inspiration from classic Tamil films like Murattu Kaalai (1980), Annamalai (1992), and Baashha (1995).
Promotional teasers were released on 7 November and 5 December 2013. The film received a “U” certificate from the CBFC and its satellite rights were acquired by Sun TV.
Veeram was remade in Telugu as Katamarayudu (2017) in Kannada as Odeya (2019), and in Hindi as Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (2023).
