Trauma is a Tamil crime thriller film written and directed by debutant Thambithurai Mariyappan. The film stars Vivek Prasanna, Prathosh, and Poornima Ravi in key roles. It is produced by S. Uma Maheshwari under the Turm Production House banner.
The film’s cinematography is handled by Ajith Srinivasan, marking his debut as a cinematographer. Mugan Vel takes charge of the editing, while RS Rajprathap serves as the music compose
The storyline of Trauma is inspired by real events and interweaves three distinct narratives: a young woman deeply attached to her father, an entrepreneur passionately in love with his wife, and two thieves caught in a perilous situation. Their paths converge at a critical juncture, shedding light on the complexities of fertility treatments and the significance of adoption.
Director Thambithurai Mariyappan crafted this tale based on an incident experienced by a friend, aiming to bring attention to these pressing social issues.
The project was officially announced as “Production 01” on December 31, 2024. The following day, January 1, 2025, the first look poster and the film’s title, “Trauma,” were unveiled by renowned actor Vijay Sethupathi.
