Storyline
Almost half a century ago, a remote village in the middle of a tropical rainforest starts witnessing a series of unexplainable events which they attribute to the supernatural.
About Vikrant Rona Movie
Vikrant Rona is a Kannada action thriller film written and directed by Anup Bhandari, produced by Jack Manjunath and co-produced by Alankar Pandian. The film stars Sudeepa in the title role, alongside Milana Nagaraj, Nirup Bhandari, Neetha Ashok, and Jacqueline Fernandez.
The collaboration between Sudeepa and Anup Bhandari was initially planned for a project titled Billa Ranga Baasha, but it was put on hold when Sudeepa heard a new script from Bhandari. After hearing the script, Sudeepa decided to star in Vikrant Rona himself, with the decision to produce the film as well. The film is produced by Manjunath Gowda’s Shalini Arts, with Alankar Pandian joining as a co-producer.
Filming began on 2 March 2020 in Hyderabad under the working title Phantom, but production was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The crew resumed shooting in July 2020 at Annapurna Studios, Hyderabad, where large-scale sets were created. Additional filming took place in Malshej Ghat, Mahabaleshwar, and Kerala. The film is notable for being the first Kannada movie to utilize the advanced real-time 3D creation tool Unreal Engine.
Jacqueline Fernandez joined the cast for a prominent role, including a song appearance. Nirup Bhandari, Neetha Ashok, Ravishankar Gowda, Madhusudhan Rao, and Vasuki Vaibhav also play pivotal roles in the film.
Sudeepa has hinted at the possibility of a sequel to Vikrant Rona in an interview.
