Storyline

Due to a series of antics at the bubblegum factory, Daffy Duck and Porky Pig discover a secret alien plot to take over the Earth via mind-control. The duo must work together to stop the aliens while trying to avoid driving each other insane.

About The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie

Directed by Pete Browngardt in his feature directorial debut, the film marks the first fully animated Looney Tunes movie to receive a worldwide theatrical release. It is based on Looney Tunes Cartoons (2019), voice actor Bob Bergen does not reprise his role as Porky Pig from the series, with Eric Bauza taking on the role instead.

The film features voice performances from Eric Bauza, Candi Milo, Peter MacNicol, Fred Tatasciore, Laraine Newman, and Wayne Knight. This marks Wayne Knight’s second Looney Tunes film, following Space Jam (1996).

In September 2021, reports confirmed that Warner Bros. Animation was developing a film based on the Looney Tunes Cartoons series, centered around Daffy Duck and Porky Pig.

The Day the Earth Blew Up premiered at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 11, 2024, and was theatrically released in the United States by Ketchup Entertainment on March 14, 2025.

In the United States and Canada, the film was released alongside Black Bag, Opus, The Last Supper, and Novocaine, and is projected to gross around $3 million from 2,827 theaters in its opening weekend. The film made $1 million on its first day.
