Superboys of Malegaon Storyline

Superboys of Malegaon is a film based on the life of Nasir Shaikh, an amateur filmmaker from the town of Malegaon. In the small town of Malegaon, where Bollywood films are the only escape from daily struggles, amateur filmmaker Nasir Sheikh rallies his motley group of friends to create a film for the people of Malegaon, by the people of Malegaon. In this poignant tale of filmmaking and friendship, passion overcomes shoestring budgets, ingenuity conquers challenges, and dreams ignite hope, breathing new life into the town.

About Superboys of Malegaon Movie

Superboys of Malegaon is a Hindi comedy-drama film, based on the life of Nasir Shaikh and other amateur filmmakers in the Indian city of Malegaon. The film was inspired by the 2008 documentary Supermen of Malegaon.

The film was directed by Reema Kagti, who also co-produced the film alongside Zoya Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar, and Ritesh Sidhwani. The film stars Adarsh Gourav, Shashank Arora, Vineet Kumar Singh, Anuj Singh Duhan, Saqib Ayub, Pallav Singgh, Manjiri Pupala, Muskkaan Jaferi, and Riddhi Kumar.

Superboys of Malegaon Release Date

Superboys of Malegaon premiered in the Gala section at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival on September 13, 2024. The film was released in cinemas on February 28, 2025. It will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video after its theatrical run.
