Storyline
It is the follow-up sequel to the 2022 film Sardar.
About Sardar 2 Movie
After the success of Sardar (2022), the filmmakers officially announced its sequel, Sardar 2, in October 2022. Directed by P. S. Mithran and produced by Prince Pictures, the film is a spy action thriller. Karthi reprises his dual roles, starring alongside S. J. Suryah, Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath, and Rajisha Vijayan.
Director Mithran began the pre-production process in May 2024. He co-wrote the film’s script along with Rathna Kumar
A muhurat puja for Sardar 2 was held on July 12, 2024, at a film city in Chennai, with the cast and crew in attendance. Principal photography began on July 15, 2024, at Prasad Labs in Chennai. It was reported that 40% of the shoot was planned to take place in international locations, including Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
The music and background score for the film is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, marking his seventh collaboration with Karthi. This also marks his third collaboration with director P. S. Mithran, following Irumbu Thirai (2018) and Hero (2019).
