Storyline
YD Raju, an ex-IPS officer, is called by his ex-girlfriend to help her solve a high-profile kidnapping case, but things take a turn when Raju’s wife accompanies with them in the operation as she is suspicion that Raju might fall in love with ex-girlfriend again.
About Sankranthiki Vasthunam Movie
Sankranthiki Vasthunam is a Telugu action comedy film written and directed by Anil Ravipudi and starring Venkatesh, in their third collaboration after F2 (2019) and F3 (2022). Produced by Sri Venkateswara Creations, the film also features Meenakshi Chaudhary and Aishwarya Rajesh. The music was composed by Bheems Ceciroleo, while the cinematography and editing were handled by Sameer Reddy and Tammiraju respectively.
Principal photography began on 11 July 2024. Filming took place in Hyderabad, Kasaragod, Dehradun, Mussoorie, and Rishikesh.
Sankranthiki Vasthunam was released in theaters on 14 January 2025, coinciding with the Sankranthi festival. The film received positive reviews from both critics and audiences, with particular praise for its comedy, the performances of the lead actors, and the music. The film went on to become a commercial success, grossing between ₹175–218 crore worldwide at the box office.
The UK release was cut, the distributor chose to make cuts to strong violence in order to obtain a 12A classification. An uncut 15 classification was available.
Sankranthiki Vasthunam Sequel
After the success of Sankranthiki Vasthunam, director Anil Ravipudi has announced its sequel, titled Malli Sankranthiki Vasthunam. The film is set to be released in January 2027, aligning with the Sankranthi festival.
