About Lovely Movie
Lovely (Malayalam: ലൗലി) is an upcoming Malayalam fantasy comedy-drama film written and directed by Dileesh Karunakaran. The film features Mathew Thomas, Unnimaya Prasad, Manoj K Jayan, Aswathy Ramachandran, Prashanth Murali, Baburaj, Joemon Jothir, Arun Pradeep, and Sreejith Ravi.
This film marks a milestone in Malayalam cinema as the first hybrid 3D animation and live-action movie. It also marks director Dileesh Karunakaran’s return to filmmaking, a decade after his debut with Tamaar Padaar (2014).
Saranya and Dr. Amar Ramachandran produced the film under the banners of Western Guts Production and Neni Entertainments. Vishnu Vijay and Bijibal composed the music. Aashiq Abu handles the cinematography, while Kiran Das does the editing.
The filming of Lovely began on June 1, 2023, with a puja ceremony. Principal photography began in June 2023 and wrapped up in August 2023, completing a 51-day shoot. However, director Dileesh Karunakaran revealed that the film’s post-production has taken over a year and a half. The first look was unveiled on September 1, 2023.
