Storyline
Set in the late 14th century, the film follows the journey of Hamirji Gohil, a young warrior from the village of Arthilain, Gujarat, who sacrifices his life to preserve Hinduism. As the Tughlaq Empire expands under Zafar Khan, the Subedar of Gujarat, he enforces Islamic conversion and destroys temples. Refusing to succumb, Hamirji seeks to unite Gujarat’s kings against Zafar Khan but is met with rejection. Undeterred, Hamirji reaches Somnath Temple during Mahashivratri to rally Hindu forces. When Rasool Khanlaunches a surprise attack, Hamirji’s courage leads to his victory over Rasool Khan. Enraged, Zafar Khan orders the destruction of all temples, starting with Somnath. With only 200 soldiers, Hamirji faces the massive Tughlaq army, aided by Vegdabhil. Despite their valor and strategy, they are vastly outnumbered. Hamirji fights till his last breath, ensuring that Somnath Temple and the faith of Hindus remain unshaken.

Kesari Veer: Legends of Somnath is an upcoming Hindi historical action drama film directed by Prince Dhiman and written by Shitiz Srivastava, and Kanu Chauhan. It is produced by Kanu Chauhan, and Rajen Chauhan under the banner of Chauhan Studios.
Set in the late 14th century, the narrative centers on Hamirji Gohil, portrayed by Sooraj Pancholi, a valiant warrior who sacrificed his life defending the Somnath Temple against the Tughlaq Empire’s forces. The ensemble cast includes Suniel Shetty as Vegda and Vivek Oberoi as Zafar Khan, the Subedar of Gujarat.
The film marks Sooraj Pancholi’s comeback to the big screen after a hiatus. His last film was Time to Dance (2021).
