Storyline
Nancy Vandergroot, a teacher and homemaker whose picture-perfect life with her community pillar husband and son in tulip-filled Holland, Michigan, tumbles into a twisted tale. Nancy and her friendly colleague become suspicious of a secret, only to discover nothing in their lives is what it seems.

Holland is an upcoming American mystery thriller film directed by Mimi Cave and written by Andrew Sodroski. The film stars Nicole Kidman, Gael García Bernal, Matthew Macfadyen, and Jude Hill.
In 2013, Naomi Watts and Bryan Cranston were set to star in Holland, with Errol Morris originally attached as the director. Production was initially planned to begin in April 2013 but was ultimately abandoned by 2015. In 2016, Amazon Studios secured the film rights, setting the stage for its eventual production with a completely new cast and crew in 2022.
The screenplay for this film was featured in the 2013 Blacklist; a list of the “most liked” unmade scripts of the year.
In June 2022, it was announced that Nicole Kidman would star in and produce the film alongside Per Saari for Blossom Films and Peter Dealbert for Pacific View Management & Productions. Originally titled Holland, Michigan, the film’s name was later shortened to Holland when its release details were revealed.
Filming for Holland took place from early March to May 7, 2023. The production took place in Holland, Michigan, featuring locations like Windmill Island Gardens, as well as in Nashville, Tennessee. During filming in March 2023, cast member Rachel Sennott made a trip from Tennessee to Austin, Texas, to attend the premieres of her upcoming films at SXSW.
