About Deva Movie:
Deva is an upcoming Indian Hindi action thriller film directed by Rosshan Andrrews. The film features Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles, alongside, Pavail Gulati, Pravessh Rana, and Kubbra Sait.
In early August 2022, reports emerged that Rosshan Andrrews had visited Shahid Kapoor at his residence to narrate a script that left the actor impressed. Later, in November 2022, Rosshan Andrrews officially confirmed through his social media that he would be directing Shahid Kapoor in his upcoming film. This project marks their first collaboration and serves as Rosshan Andrrews’ debut in Hindi cinema.
The film was officially announced on May 25, 2023. The film’s official title Deva was revealed on October 24, 2023, on the occasion of Dussehra, though it was previously reported to be named Koi Shaq. Principal photography began on October 12, 2023, in Mumbai and wrapped by September 4, 2024.
Deva was produced on a budget of ₹70 crore (approximately US$8.1 million), with Shahid Kapoor receiving ₹25 crore (approximately US$2.9 million) as his remuneration.
According to reports, Deva is a remake of the 2013 Malayalam film Mumbai Police.
The motion poster for the film was unveiled on January 1, 2025, as a New Year special. The official teaser followed, released on January 5, 2025, during an event at the Carter Road Amphitheatre in Bandra. Subsequently, the official trailer premiered on January 18, 2025, at a grand event in Mumbai.
On December 30, 2024, the film received a U/A certificate from the Censor Board, with a finalized runtime of 156 minutes and 53 seconds.
Deva Release Date:
Deva is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 31, 2025. The digital streaming rights were acquired by Netflix.
