Storyline

Quinn Maybrook and her father have moved to tiny, boring Kettle Springs, to find a fresh start, But what they don’t know is that ever since the Baypen Corn Syrup Factory shut down, Kettle Springs has cracked in half. On one side are the adults, who are desperate to make Kettle Springs great again, and on the other are the kids, who want to have fun, make prank videos, and get out as quickly as they can. Kettle Springs is caught in a battle between old and new, tradition and progress. It’s a fight that looks like it will destroy the town. Until Frendo, the Baypen mascot, a creepy clown goes homicidal and decides that the only way for Kettle Springs to grow back is to cull the rotten crop of kids who live there now.

About Clown in a Cornfield Movie

Clown in a Cornfield is an upcoming American slasher horror film based on Adam Cesare’s award-winning 2020 novel of the same name. The film stars Katie Douglas, Kevin Durand, Will Sasso, Cassandra Potenza, and Aaron Abrams.

Plans to adapt the novel were announced in 2020, even before its August release. Temple Hill Entertainment acquired the rights to turn it into a feature film. Eli Craig has been signed on as the director, working from a screenplay by Carter Blanchard. Per Deadline, Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey will serve as producers.

The film was shot in Stonewall, Manitoba, Canada.

Clown in a Cornfield Release Date

Clown in a Cornfield is set to premiere in March 2025 at the South by Southwest Film & TV Festival. It will then have a wide theatrical release on May 9, 2025, under RLJE Films and Shudder.
