The Guardians of Justice Storyline

After defeating Robo-Hitler and ending World War III, peace has been maintained on Earth for 40 years thanks to the alien superhero Marvelous Man (Will Yun Lee). In 1987, this peace is thrown into chaos with Marvelous Man’s death. Marvelous Man’s former lieutenant, Knight Hawk (Diamond Dallas Page), investigates his death with the help of the idealistic hero The Speed (Sharni Vinson) in order to prevent a nuclear war.

The Guardians of Justice (also known as Adi Shankar’s The Guardians of Justice (Will Save You!)) is a live-action/adult animated mixed media superhero television series created, directed, written, and executive produced by Adi Shankar.

The series is a Bootleg Universe production and a satire of DC Comics and the Justice League starring WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page as Knight Hawk, a parody of an older grizzled Batman.

  • On July 29, 2015, HBO announced the development of Adi Shankar’s Gods And Secrets, with Adi Shankar writing, showrunning, and directing the tragic superhero satire.
  • On September 27, 2021, the series was rebranded as The Guardians of Justice, maintaining its hybrid-animation and tragic superhero satire style.

Season 1, Episode 2: Chapter 2: A Mentally Shattered Megalomaniac (March 1, 2022)

Knight Hawk begins investigating Marvelous Man’s death, focusing on the caltronite bullet that killed him. Suspecting one of the Guardians stole it, he starts surveilling his teammates. He reaches out to former protégé Red Talon and takes his current ward, Little Wing, to interrogate Marvelous Man’s controversial therapist. With few leads, Knight Hawk turns to the Cortex, an alien computer system, which implicates The Speed and Motion Blur.

Season 1, Episode 3: Chapter 3: Anubis and How I Learned to Love the Nuke (March 1, 2022)

With Marvelous Man gone, Anubis terrorists rise, and global powers inch toward nuclear war. Red Talon sends the junior hero Sepia Spider into Anubis territory, but he’s captured and killed. In retaliation, Red Talon launches a direct attack on Anubis, only to meet the same fate. Desperate to end the threat, Knight Hawk sends Little Wing, who ultimately succeeds in eliminating the Anubis Queen.

Season 1, Episode 4: Chapter 4: You Can Own the Word ‘Justice’ (March 1, 2022)

Knight Hawk’s investigation uncovers buried secrets within the Guardians. He learns of King Tsunami’s affair with Marvelous Man’s wife and discovers Black Bow and Blue Scream’s ties to a dangerous street drug. Meanwhile, sparks fly between The Speed and Awesome Man, leading to an unexpected romance.

Season 1, Episode 5: Chapter 5: When Guardians Fall in Love (March 1, 2022)

When a confrontation with Golden Goddess turns hostile, Awesome Man is forced to save Knight Hawk. Meanwhile, his budding relationship with The Speed intensifies as they embark on a superpowered date. But The Speed follows a lead of her own and confronts Motion Blur, uncovering new details about Marvelous Man’s death.

Season 1, Episode 6: Chapter 6: Shame Is a Lower Vibration than Anger (March 1, 2022)

Knight Hawk’s investigation leads him to Mind Master and Marvelous Man’s most guarded secret—the two were in a relationship. To keep the truth from surfacing, Knight Hawk eliminates Mind Master and crafts his own version of events. Meanwhile, The Speed uncovers Knight Hawk’s fascist ambitions and his plan to build a secret army.

Season 1, Episode 7: Chapter 7: Proximity to Power Corrupts More than Power Itself (March 1, 2022)

Knight Hawk begins using his secret army to seize control. Armed with the truth, The Speed and Awesome Man attempt to rally the other Guardians against him. As The Speed attacks to pave the way, she discovers that Awesome Man was secretly Little Wing in disguise. Under Knight Hawk’s command, Little Wing kills her “for the greater good.”
