Spermageddon Movie Storyline

Two narrative threads – one is an emerging love story between two awkward teens, Jens and Lisa, who are having sex for the first time and the other is an eventful quest of Simon the Semen and his friends to reach the golden goal, the Egg.

About Spermageddon Movie

Spermageddon is a Norwegian adult animated musical sex comedy film directed by Tommy Wirkola and Rasmus A. Sivertsen.

The film has been reported to be “in the veins of Sausage Party” and described by Wirkola as “both a road movie and an epic adventure … much like Lord of the Rings”. Producer Kjetil Omberg likened it to South Park and Checkered Ninja, saying it targets “elder kids and adults”.

In June 2021, the production was reported to begin “in the fall”. It was in production as of May 2022. In March 2024, Wirkola said the film was in post-production.

Spermageddon Movie Release Date

Spermageddon was marketed to local distributors at the Marché du Film during the 2022 Cannes Film Festival by the international sales agent Charades. It was later screened for potential buyers at the 2024 edition of the festival.

The film had its premiere at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 10, 2024, as part of the Midnight Specials section. It went on to screen at several notable festivals, including the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival in July 2024, Fantastic Fest in September 2024, and the Sitges Film Festival in October 2024. It will also be featured in the Limelight section at the 54th International Film Festival Rotterdam in February 2025.

Originally set for release in the Nordics on January 10, 2025, by SF Studios, the release was later delayed to February 28, 2025. The film has been sold for distribution in numerous regions, including the Adriatics, Austria, the Baltics, Bulgaria, the CIS, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, and Thailand.
