About Shakthi Thirumagan Movie

Shakthi Thirumagan is an upcoming Tamil drama film written and directed by Arun Prabu. The film stars Vijay Antony, who also composed the music and serves as the producer. The cast also includes Vaagai Chandrasekar, Sunil Kripalani, Cell Murugan, Trupthi Ravindra, Kiran, Rini Bot, Riya Jithu, and Master Keshav.

The film was officially announced on January 28, 2025, under the tentative title #VA25, marking Vijay Antony’s 25th film as a lead actor. The official title was revealed the following day, on January 29, 2025, and the teaser was released on March 12, 2025.

In early 2025, a title controversy emerged between Vijay Antony and Sivakarthikeyan regarding their 25th films, both initially named Parasakthi. Sivakarthikeyan’s film, directed by Sudha Kongara and produced by Dawn Pictures, was officially announced as Parasakthi on January 29, 2025. On the same day, Vijay Antony introduced his film with the titles Sakthi Thirumagan in Tamil and Paraashakthi in Telugu, causing confusion among audiences.

Vijay Antony’s team had registered Paraashakthi in July 2024, while Dawn Pictures had approval from the Tamil and Telugu Producers Council for Parasakthi. After discussions, Sivakarthikeyan’s film retained Parasakthi in Tamil and Telugu, while Vijay Antony’s film became Shakthi Thirumagan in Tamil but kept Parasakthi for Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. This resolution set an example for professional conflict resolution in the industry.

Shakthi Thirumagan Release Date

Shakthi Thirumagan is set to release in theaters in May 2025. In addition to Tamil, the film will also be released in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam under the title Paraashakthi.
