Pyaar Prema Kaadhal Storyline
Two lovers, who are different in almost all ways, get into a live-in relationship. They go through tough times as their approach towards life do not match with each other’s.
About Pyaar Prema Kaadhal Movie
Pyaar Prema Kaadhal is a Tamil romantic comedy film directed by Elan in his directorial debut and produced by Yuvan Shankar Raja under YSR Films, with co-production by S. N. Rajarajan of K Productions. Yuvan Shankar Raja also composed the film’s music.
The film stars Harish Kalyan and debutant Raiza Wilson, both of whom gained popularity through Bigg Boss Tamil. Supporting roles are played by Anand Babu, Pandian, Rekha, Ramadoss, and Subbu Panchu. Cinematography was handled by Raja Bhattacharjee, while editing was done by S. Manikumaran.
In October 2017, Yuvan Shankar Raja announced his first film production, a romantic comedy directed by Elan. Harish Kalyan was cast as an “innocent middle-class boy,” while Raiza Wilson was selected from over thirty actresses to portray an “outgoing girl.” Principal photography began in mid-November 2017 in Chennai. Yuvan’s wife, Zafroon Nizar, debuted as the costume designer for Raiza.
The first schedule wrapped in December 2017, and actress Rekha later replaced Bhanupriya in the role of Harish Kalyan’s mother. By January 2018, 70% of the film was completed, with simultaneous editing. After finishing the talkie portions in March 2018, the team filmed two songs in Azerbaijan, making Pyaar Prema Kaadhal the first Tamil film shot in the country.
Trident Arts acquired the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights for ₹3 crore. The film was released on 10 August 2018, after being briefly rescheduled to avoid a clash with Vishwaroopam II and as a mark of respect following the death of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. However, on its release day, piracy websites illegally uploaded the film, sparking controversy.
A Telugu-dubbed version under the same title was released on 21 September 2018.
Remake
Following its success, director Elan announced that the film will be remade in Hindi, with Sandeep Singh bankrolling the project. The film was remade in Telugu as Urvasivo Rakshasivo (2022).
