Nonnas Storyline
After the loss of his mother, Joe Scaravella (played by Vince Vaughn) risks everything to honor her by opening an Italian restaurant with a group of local grandmothers as the chefs.
About Nonnas Movie
Nonna’s is inspired by the life of Joe Scaravella, the owner of Enoteca Maria, a unique restaurant located in Staten Island. The restaurant is known for inviting grandmothers (nonnas) from different cultural backgrounds to work as chefs, each bringing their own traditional recipes to life.
Filming took place between May and June 2023 across multiple locations in New Jersey, including Jersey City, Hoboken, Bayonne, Paterson, Linden, Elizabeth, and Edison.
In September 2024, Netflix won the worldwide distribution rights to the film in an auction for over $20 million.
