About Nobody Wants This TV Series
Nobody Wants This is an American romantic comedy television series created by Erin Foster, featuring Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, Justine Lupe, and Timothy Simons in lead roles.
Netflix officially greenlit the series on March 1, 2023, basing it loosely on Foster’s real-life experiences. Kristen Bell was announced as the lead, with Steven Levitan joining Foster and Bell as a co-executive producer.
On May 15, 2024, the show was titled Nobody Wants This and scheduled for release on Netflix on September 26, 2024. The series is executive-produced by Foster, Bell, Levitan, Craig DiGregorio, Sara Foster, Danielle Stokdyk, Oly Obst, and Josh Lieberman under Steven Levitan Productions, 3 Arts Entertainment, and 20th Television.
Netflix renewed the show for a second season on October 10, 2024, introducing Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan as the new showrunners, replacing Foster and DiGregorio. At the 30th Critics’ Choice Awards on February 7, 2025, Jackie Tohn announced that filming for Season 2 would commence on March 3, 2025, with the premiere set for later that year.
Initially, Kristen Bell’s casting was confirmed in March 2023. The following month, Adam Brody was announced to play Noah, while Bell’s character was named Joanne. In January 2024, Justine Lupe and Timothy Simons joined as series regulars, playing Morgan and Sasha. Additional recurring cast members included Jackie Tohn, Michael Hitchcock, Paul Ben-Victor, Sherry Cola, Shiloh Bearman, Stephanie Faracy, Tania Raymonde, and Tovah Feldshuh. By May 2024, Emily Arlook replaced Tania Raymonde as Rebecca.
In February 2025, Jackie Tohn was promoted to a series regular, while Leighton Meester and Miles Fowler were confirmed as guest stars for the second season.
