Nepal Idol (Nepali: नेपाल आइडल) is the first International franchise in Nepalese television history. Nepal Idol is part of the Idols franchise created by Simon Fuller and owned by FremantleMedia. The judges were Nhyoo Bajracharya, Indira Joshi and Kali Prasad Baskota Nepal Idol 2017 is the first season of Idol Franchise in Nepal which aired on AP1 TV.
The series aims to find new solo recording artists from across Nepal and the winner would be decided by viewers’ votes through the Internet, telephone, and text messages.

Nepal Idol Season 2 (2018):
It was officially announced in early 2018 that Nepal Idol will be back for another season. Season 2 auditions started on March 20.
The directors for season 2 are Suresh Paudel, Lokesh Bajracharya, and Aleen Shrestha. The assistant directors are Mohan Raj Adhikari and Babu Surace D.C.(Surace Dulal).

Nepal Idol Season 3 (2019/2020):
Nepal Idol Season 3 was officially announced on July 13 by AP1 TV by uploading its promotional video on YouTube.
The directors for season 3 are Suresh Paudel, Lokesh Bajracharya, and Aleen Shrestha. The assistant director is Babu Surace D.C.(Surace Dulal).
For the first time ever, the organizer announced Digital Auditions in which, participants can record a video and upload it into the Respect & Rise App for an audition. Selected candidates from Digital Auditions will be called Kathmandu for Studio Rounds.
After airing the wildcard special episode, due to fear of the COVID-19 virus outbreak production and airing of Nepal Idol was postponed for 139 days. Nepal Idol resumed on August 6, 2020.

Nepal Idol Season 4 (2021-Present):
AP1 TV confirmed Nepal Idol Season 4 by publishing a promo released on July 21, 2021. Nepal Idol Season 4 Digital Audition begins from Bhadra 1st to Bhadra 31 2078.
You can audition anywhere in the country or abroad by downloading the APON app from the Play Store.
Nepal Idol Season 4 judges are Shambhujeet Baskota, Sugam Pokharel & Subani Moktan . Due to the busy schedule of the previous judges, all the three new judges have been placed in the Nepal Idol Season 4.
The show will be hosted by Asif Shah and Reshma Ghimire. Nepal Idol Season 4 will be aired on AP1 TV.
