About Joe vs. Carole TV Series
Joe vs. Carole is an American drama television limited series created by Etan Frankel. It stars John Cameron Mitchell, Kate McKinnon, Kyle MacLachlan, Dean Winters, Brian Van Holt, William Fichtner, Nat Wolff, Sam Keeley, Lex Mayson, Joel Marsh Garland, Marlo Kelly, Kenneth Radley and Aliandra Calabrese.
The series is based on the second season of Wondery’s Over My Dead Body podcast, entitled Joe Exotic: Tiger King (before being retitled to Joe vs. Carole).
In March 2020, after the success of the Netflix series Tiger King, Universal Content Productions began developing a limited series about Carole Baskin’s life. Kate McKinnon was set to produce and play Baskin, with the series based on the podcast Joe Exotic: Tiger King, later renamed Joe vs Carole.
Originally planned to air on NBC, Peacock, and USA Network, it was later confirmed to stream exclusively on Peacock. Etan Frankel created the series and served as writer and executive producer, while Justin Tipping directed the first four episodes. Natalie Bailey was appointed to direct episodes five to seven.
The title of the show was announced on January 21, 2022, and it was set to be released on March 3, 2022. It later premiered on more traditional television in October 2022.
By September 2021, filming occurred in areas around Queensland, Australia, including Screen Queensland Studios, which doubled for Oklahoma and Florida.[4] In October 2021, due to filming commitments with Joe vs. Carole, McKinnon was precluded from appearing in the first seven episodes of season 47 of Saturday Night Live.
Joe vs. Carole Release Date
Joe vs. Carole began streaming on Peacock on March 3, 2022.
