Maui Taylor was born on 28 June 1983, in Brighton, England, UK. When she reached her teens, she was sent over to live in the Philippines because her father didn’t want her to grow up a “wild thing” like most teenagers in the United Kingdom.

Career

Maui Taylor’s entry into the entertainment world was facilitated by a cousin who was part of a dance group in the Philippines. At the age of 14, she secured a role in the Filipino TV soap opera Anna Karenina, which opened doors to various roles in films and television.

Her breakthrough came with the sitcom Kool Ka Lang (1998-2003), followed by an appearance in Back to Iskul Bukol. However, it was her bold performance in the 2001 erotic film Tatarin (based on National Artist Nick Joaquin’s The Summer Solstice) that transformed her image and brought her widespread recognition, moving away from her previously innocent persona.

In 2003, Taylor starred in Gamitan, which became a box office hit, grossing nearly P70 million. She also appeared in Hibla alongside Rica Peralejo that same year. Her role in the sex comedy Sex Drive (co-starring Katya Santos and Wendell Ramos) further cemented her presence in the industry.

Her next project, Ang Huling Birhen sa Lupa, garnered positive reviews for her performance, earning her a Best Actress nomination, although the award went to her co-star Ara Mina. Later that year, she featured in Masamang Ugat, Bugbog Sarado, and a cinematography compilation titled Sex Goddess.

Taylor was also a member of the Viva Hot Babes, a group formed by Viva Entertainment’s Vicente Del Rosario Jr. in 2003, which included actresses like Katya Santos, Andrea del Rosario, and others.

After a brief hiatus, she made her return to acting in 2012, starring as a tragic maid in the South Korean film The Taste of Money, where she portrayed the servant to a wealthy family.

Personal Life

After years of acting, Taylor chose to take a step back from the spotlight to focus on her personal life. She is married to Anton Sabarre, a non-showbiz personality, and they have two sons, Antoine Miguel and Matteo Alonzo.

In her downtime, Taylor shares glimpses of her life through vlogs on her YouTube channel.
