About Begins Youth TV Series
Begins ≠ Youth (Korean: 비긴즈유스) is a South Korean drama television series based on the BTS Universe, starring Seo Ji-hoon, Noh Jong-hyun, Ahn Ji-ho, Seo Young-joo, Kim Yoon-woo, Jung Woo-jin, and Jeon Jin-seo.
Big Hit Entertainment’s co-CEO Bang Si-hyuk revealed on August 21, 2019, that a drama series about BTS’s debut days was in production to be released in the second half of 2020 as part of the BTS Universe. The series is co-produced by Chorokbaem Media. Originally titled Blue Sky (Korean: 푸른 하늘; RR: Peureun Haneul), the title of the series was later changed to Youth.
On June 17, 2020, it was reported that the main and supporting casts were being cast by the production teams, where the main cast consisted of entirely rookie actors. On October 19, there was news that Seo Ji-hoon, Noh Jong-hyun, Ahn Ji-ho, Seo Young-joo, Kim Yoon-woo, Jung Woo-jin and Jeon Jin-seo were going to be the leads of the series.
Shooting halted in late October 2020 following complaints from fans concerning the names of the characters having similarities with the members’ names of the group. The shooting was initially planned to resume in early December but was pushed to January 2021. On April 7, 2021, news emerged that the names of the lead characters were to be altered and some of the shooting to be redone.
Chorokbaem Media issued production stoppage notices at the end of November and went into post-production to increase the “quality” of the series
