Bazooka Storyline

Benjamin Joshua, a courageous police officer from Cochin City, is on a mission to track down a gang of serial robbers who commit heists in disguise, targeting specific locations. During his investigation, Benjamin uncovers a startling pattern — the criminals are orchestrating their robberies based on the stages of a video game.

In a parallel narrative, Caesar John, a retired forensic scientist and ethical hacker, lends his expertise to aid Benjamin in deciphering the mystery and hunting down the criminal gang.

About Bazooka Movie

Bazooka is a Malayalam action thriller film written and directed by Deeno Dennis in his directorial debut. Yoodlee Films and Theatre of Dreams produce the film. The film stars Mammootty and Gautham Vasudev Menon in the lead roles.

Deeno Dennis, son of screenwriter Kaloor Dennis, makes his directorial debut with Bazooka, for which he also penned the script. He spent three years developing the screenplay, which was immediately approved by Mammootty. The actor expressed his enthusiasm for the script, praising its tight narrative and well-crafted characters.

The film is produced by Dolwin Kuriakose and Jinu V. Abraham under Yoodlee Films, alongside Vikram Mehra and Sidharth Anand Kumar under Theatre of Dreams. The official title, Bazooka, was unveiled on April 9, 2023.

In March 2023, Gautham Vasudev Menon joined the cast in a pivotal role. By May 2023, Neeta Pillai was confirmed as one of the female leads, with Divya Pillai and Iswarya Menon also onboard. The ensemble cast further includes Gayathiri Iyer, Bhama Arun, Sidharth Bharathan, and Shine Tom Chacko.

Other notable actors such as Jagadish, Sharfuddin, Deen Dennis, Sphadikam George, and Sunny Wayne are also part of the film. Sumith Naval, known for his roles in early Amal Neerad films, returned to acting, joining the cast in July 2023. That same month, Babu Antony was reported to portray an antagonist, while Abin Bino was also cast.

Filming was initially scheduled to commence in late April 2023 and conclude within 90–100 days across Coimbatore, Kochi, and Bangalore. However, production was delayed following the passing of Mammootty’s mother.

Principal photography officially began on May 10, 2023, with a puja ceremony at the Samudrika Convention Centre on Willingdon Island. Mammootty joined the sets on May 12 and wrapped up his portions on August 5, after filming for 45 days. In August 2023, actor Hakkim Shah sustained an injury during a chase sequence.

The final shooting schedule began on February 21, 2024, in Kochi, focusing on scenes featuring Gautham Vasudev Menon. While reports initially stated that filming concluded on March 22, 2024, the makers later confirmed that some scenes featuring Gautham remained incomplete due to scheduling conflicts with Mammootty. A brief two to three-day shoot was planned, and filming was officially wrapped up in October 2024.

Cinematography is handled by Nimish Ravi, while Stunt Silva oversees the action sequences. Post-production began in July 2024, with additional patchwork shoots taking place in Kochi in September 2024.

Bazooka Movie Release Date

Earlier reports indicated that Bazooka would be released alongside Mohanlal’s directorial debut Barroz in December 2023, during Christmas. It was delayed and pushed to 2024. It was again reported to be released with Barroz on the same day on 12 September 2024 during Onam. Despite these plans, the film was postponed to April 10, 2025.

Bazooka received mixed reviews from critics.
