About Vikram Vedha (Hindi) Movie
Vikram Vedha is a Hindi neo-noir action thriller film directed and co-written by Pushkar–Gayathri, who also directed the original 2017 Tamil version. The film is produced by YNOT Studios, Friday Filmworks, Reliance Entertainment, T-Series Films, and Jio Studios. It is inspired by the Indian folktale Vetala Panchavimshati and stars Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan as the titular anti-heroes, with Radhika Apte, Rohit Saraf, and Yogita Bihani in supporting roles.
In March 2018, it was confirmed that Pushkar–Gayathri would direct the Hindi remake of Vikram Vedha, with Neeraj Pandey serving as the creative producer. The remake aimed to retain the “gritty” tone of the original film. While Shah Rukh Khan was initially approached for a role, Saif Ali Khan and Aamir Khan were later confirmed as playing Vikram and Vedha, respectively. Aamir Khan eventually left the project due to production delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and Hrithik Roshan replaced him in December 2020.
Principal photography started on 15 October 2021, with the first schedule in Abu Dhabi. Despite rumors, the decision to shoot in the UAE was attributed to logistical reasons, including the ability to create the necessary bio-bubble for the crew. Filming wrapped by 10 June 2022.
The film’s teaser trailer, released on 24 August 2022, garnered significant attention, reaching over a million likes in under 24 hours, surpassing War (2019) as the most-liked teaser for a Hindi film on YouTube.
