Storyline:
An atheist hunter Kannappa becomes a devotee of the Hindu god Shiva. and plucked out his eyes in an act of devotion.
About Kannappa Movie:
Kannappa is an upcoming Telugu fantasy action drama film directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh. Vishnu Manchu writes the screenplay for the film, while the story is collaboratively developed by Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, Eshwar Reddy, G. Nageswara Reddy, and Thota Prasad.
Vishnu Manchu plays the title role of Kannappa, a devote of god Shiva. Supporting roles are played by Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Arpit Ranka, Kaushal Manda, Rahul Madhav, Devaraj, Mukesh Rishi, Brahmanandam, Raghu Babu, Preity Mukhundhan, and Madhoo. Additionally, the film includes cameo appearances by Mohanlal, Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, and Kajal Aggarwal.
Akshay Kumar made his Telugu debut with Kannappa; and appeared in a cameo role.
Kannappa was officially launched with a pooja ceremony on 18 August 2023 at the Srikalahasteeswara temple in Srikalahasti. Principal photography began on 25 September 2023 in New Zealand. However, filming was temporarily halted in late October after Vishnu Manchu sustained an injury during a fight sequence when the blades of a drone made contact with his arm. Approximately 80% of the film was shot in New Zealand.
Kannappa Release Date:
Kannappa will be theatrically released on 25 April 2025 in Telugu and dubbed versions of Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, and English languages.
