Storyline
Kabir, a secret agent, goes rogue after a mission to catch a terrorist goes awry. However, his boss sends Khalid, another agent and his student, to track him down.
About War Movie
War is a Hindi action thriller film co-written and directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films. The third installment in the YRF Spy Universe, the film stars Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, and Vaani Kapoor in lead roles.
The film marks the first collaboration between Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff.
Principal photography commenced in September 2018 and wrapped up in March 2019. The film was initially Tentatively titled Fighters, but later on, on 15 July 2019, when its teaser was unveiled, the official name was announced as War. The film score and the soundtrack album were scored by Vishal–Shekhar.
It broke all opening day and weekend box-office records for a Hindi film, with blockbuster collections, up until it was surpassed by the universe’s and Anand’s next film Pathaan (2023). War eventually emerged as a major financial success with a total gross of ₹475 crore (US$59 million), becoming the highest-grossing Indian film of 2019 and the 16th highest-grossing Indian film of all time.
A sequel War 2 is scheduled for release on 14 August 2025.
War Release Date
War was released in theatres worldwide on 2 October 2019, coinciding to Gandhi Jayanti, with dubbed versions in Tamil and Telugu. The film received generally positive reviews from critics and audiences alike, with particular praise for Shroff’s and Roshan’s performance, Anand’s direction, action sequences, visual effects, and film score.
