Storyline

The film is about a fisherman in Srikakulam who gets caught by the Pakistan forces in international waters. The narrative explores themes of love, revenge, courage, and patriotism, weaving together action, drama, and emotion to captivate the audience.

About Thandel Movie

Thandel is a Telugu romantic survival action drama film written and directed by Chandoo Mondeti. The film stars Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in lead roles.

Filming for Thandel began in December 2023, featuring the lead cast of Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi. The major portions of the shoot took place in Vizag, Srikakulam, and Udupi.

The budget of Thandel is ₹75 crores, making it the most expensive project in Naga Chaitanya’s career. A special dance sequence dedicated to Lord Shiva in the film was created with a budget of ₹4 crores, featuring 900 specially trained dancers. Additionally, the makers have already recovered ₹40 crores from the sale of digital rights.

Thandel Release Date

Thandel was released theatrically on February 7, 2025. Initially, the film was planned for a Sankranthi festival release in January 2025, but due to challenges with shooting permissions and a commitment to maintaining uncompromised quality, the makers decided to push the release to February 7, 2025. The film was released in Tamil and Hindi languages. The film generally received mixed reviews from critics.

The satellite rights have been sold to Zee, and the post-release OTT rights were acquired by Netflix for a substantial price.
