Storyline
Engaged in a mysterious relationship with a wise-cracking (and dead) best friend from the Army, a female Afghanistan veteran reluctantly reunites with her estranged Vietnam vet grandfather at the family’s ancestral lake house.

My Dead Friend Zoe is an American comedy-drama film directed by Hausmann-Stokes in his feature film debut. The movie stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Natalie Morales, Gloria Reuben, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Morgan Freeman, and Ed Harris.
In May 2023, reports confirmed that Ed Harris, Sonequa Martin-Green, and Natalie Morales had joined the cast of My Dead Friend Zoe. The following month, Morgan Freeman, Gloria Reuben, and Utkarsh Ambudkar were announced as lead cast members.
This film marks the second collaboration between Morgan Freeman and Ed Harris, who previously shared the screen in Gone Baby Gone (2007).
Filming took place in various locations across Oregon, including Portland, Forest Grove, and Molalla, throughout 2023. By September 2023, production had officially wrapped.
