Aktor: Take One is a Nepali romantic thriller film directed by Rajan Bhusal, who co-wrote the script with Aakash Baral. The film stars Pradeep Khadka, Anna Sharma, Divya Rayamajhi, and Raj Ballav Koirala in the lead roles.
Adhreet Films presents a Moti Film Productions project, the film’s score is composed by Roman Bajracharya, with music by Hercules Basnet, Rohit Shakya, and Alish Karki. Cinematography is handled by Narendra Mainali, and editing is by Nimesh Shrestha.
The film Aktor was announced on January 10, 2024. The Muhoort Pooja for the film took place in Lalitpur, Kathmandu, on April 23, 2024, with the cast and crew members in attendance. Filming began on May 16, 2024.
After a hiatus of 12 years, Raj Ballav Koirala makes a comeback to the Nepali film industry. His previous last film was the 2013 film ‘Ritu’.
The official teaser of the film was released on September 27, 2024, followed by the official trailer, which dropped on January 17, 2025, across various social media platforms.
Aktor: Take One Release Date
Aktor: Take One was initially scheduled for a theatrical release on January 29, 2025 (माघ १६), but its release was delayed to January 31, 2025 (माघ १८) due to a legal dispute. The film had been accused of stealing its title and storyline, leading to a court case. The issue has since been resolved, allowing the film to be released after the settlement.

Aktor: Take One Movie Controversy:
The film Aktor: Take One has recently become the focus of a legal dispute in Kathmandu. Diaspora Entertainment Pvt Ltd filed a case against the Film Development Board and two production companies, accusing them of stealing the film’s title and storyline. In response, the District Court of Kathmandu issued a temporary order to halt the film’s screening, which was originally scheduled for release this past Wednesday.
However, reports indicate that the dispute between the films Aktor and Aktor: Take One has now been resolved. On Thursday afternoon, the producers of both films reached a written settlement. Moti Karki, producer of Aktor: Take One, confirmed that the producers of Aktor agreed to withdraw the ongoing court case. As part of the settlement, Samrat Thapa from Nepal Diaspora Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. (representing Aktor), Thaman Kumar Bhandari from Adrit Films Pvt. Ltd., and Moti Karki from A Moti Films (representing Aktor: Take One) all signed the agreement.
