Early Life & Education
Sanish Shrestha was born on 14 June 1999 in Kathmandu, Nepal. He is a younger son of mother Jamuna Shrestha (Dhakal) and father Bijaya Shrestha. His childhood was spent at his birthplace. His family always supports him to do music. He says that his inspiration is a grandfather. His grandfather used to sing Bhajan helped him to get interested in the music industry.
Sanish finished his schooling (SLC) at Sypres Public High School, Kathmandu, and joined Sirjana College of Fine Arts but he did not continue his education due to personal issues.
Career
Sanish Shrestha’s musical journey began at the young age of 8-9, fueled by an innate passion for singing and music. Rather than receiving formal training, he drew inspiration from his grandfather, who introduced him to Bhajans and occasionally played musical instruments. This early exposure nurtured his love for music, with his grandfather becoming his first and most significant influence.
Despite his deep connection to music, academics initially took priority after he completed his School Leaving Certificate (SLC). Still, his passion never waned. Determined to explore music further, he enrolled at Srijana College of Fine Arts to formally study the subject. However, his academic pursuit in music was cut short, leading him to take a self-taught approach instead.
Undeterred by this setback, Sanish dedicated himself to refining his musical abilities at home, spending countless hours practicing, experimenting with various genres, and mastering different instruments. Throughout this journey, his parents remained his pillar of support, encouraging his artistic aspirations without ever pressuring him to take a different path.
With unwavering dedication, the influence of his grandfather, and the encouragement of his family, Sanish laid the groundwork for his musical career, embarking on a path of self-discovery and artistic expression.
Sanish Shrestha Journey in The Voice of Nepal Season 2:
In 2019, Sanish Shrestha participated in The Voice of Nepal Season 2, captivating audiences with his Blind Audition performance of Lai Lai from the movie Prasad. His powerful rendition earned him a spot on The Voice Global, significantly boosting his recognition both nationally and internationally.
Advancing through the competition, Sanish made it to the Top 4 finalists. Although he didn’t claim the title, he won the hearts of countless supporters and fans, solidifying his place as a rising star in the Nepalese music industry.
