Storyline

Dharka and Brahma Jois fight over the Trishanku Mani in a battle of mantras and soon after Jois turns up dead. Prior to his death, in order to protect his family, he deployed the Ashta Dhigbandana and hides the stone in his house. Will Dharka find it?

About Avatara Purusha Movie

Avatara Purusha Part 1: Ashtadighbandhana Mandalakam, commonly known as Avatara Purusha, is a Kannada supernatural comedy thriller film written and directed by Suni. Produced by Pushkara Mallikarjunaiah under Pushkar Films, the film stars Sharan and Ashika Ranganath in lead roles, with P. Sai Kumar, Bhavya, Balaji Manohar, and Srinagar Kitty in supporting roles. The music was composed by Arjun Janya, while cinematography was handled by William David.

Director Suni drew inspiration from black magic and Hindu mythology, incorporating elements from the Mahabharata and the legend of King Trishanku. The film explores the practice of black magic in Karnataka, with extensive research conducted in Kerala, Kollegal, and Rajasthan. Special sets and animated sequences were used to depict Trishanku’s loka.

Principal photography began on 17 February 2019, with major portions filmed in Chikmagalur, Karnataka. Filming was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic but resumed in September 2020, concluding on 21 September. The film was initially set for a 28 May 2021 release but was postponed. It was finally released on 6 May 2022.

The film was conceived as the first part of a two-installment series, with its sequel titled Avatara Purusha Part 2: Trishankupayanam.
