Storyline

Quinn Maybrook and her father have moved to tiny, boring Kettle Springs, to find a fresh start, But what they don’t know is that ever since the Baypen Corn Syrup Factory shut down, Kettle Springs has cracked in half. On one side are the adults, who are desperate to make Kettle Springs great again, and on the other are the kids, who want to have fun, make prank videos, and get out as quickly as they can. Kettle Springs is caught in a battle between old and new, tradition and progress. It’s a fight that looks like it will destroy the town. Until Frendo, the Baypen mascot, a creepy clown goes homicidal and decides that the only way for Kettle Springs to grow back is to cull the rotten crop of kids who live there now.

About Clown in a Cornfield Movie

Clown in a Cornfield is an upcoming American slasher horror film based on Adam Cesare’s award-winning 2020 novel of the same name. The film stars Katie Douglas, Kevin Durand, Will Sasso, Cassandra Potenza, and Aaron Abrams.

Adaptation efforts on the novel were done in 2020, even prior to its release in August. Temple Hill Entertainment acquired the rights to turn it into a feature film.

The production took place in Winnipeg from September 18 to October 23, 2023. The film was also shot in Stonewall, Manitoba, Canada.

The film adaptation has been R-rated for Bloody Horror Violence, pervasive language and teen drinking

Clown in a Cornfield premiered at the 2025 South by Southwest Film & TV Festival on March 10, 2025. It will then have a wide theatrical release on May 9, 2025, under RLJE Films and Shudder.
