The Offer Storyline

Al Ruddy is working as a programmer at the Rand Corporation but sees an opportunity to produce TV shows and movies. Mario Puzo is a struggling author whose wife gives him an idea to write a book on the Mafia. Joe Colombo is a rising crime boss. Their three worlds are about to collide, resulting in the making of one of the greatest films of all time – The Godfather.

About The Offer TV Series

The Offer is an American biographical drama television miniseries created by Michael Tolkin and developed by Tolkin and Nikki Toscano for Paramount+. Miles Teller, Matthew Goode, Giovanni Ribisi, Colin Hanks, Dan Fogler, Juno Temple, and Burn Gorman all star.

  • The project was announced in September 2020 to air on Paramount+, with the story being told from the perspective of producer Albert S. Ruddy.
  • Armie Hammer was originally cast to play Albert S. Ruddy in December 2020 but dropped out the following month.
  • Miles Teller replaced Hammer in May 2021.
  • In April 2021, Dexter Fletcher was hired to direct several episodes.
  • Matthew Goode, Giovanni Ribisi, Colin Hanks, Dan Fogler, and Juno Temple joined the production in June.
  • In July, Burn Gorman was cast as Charles Bludhorn. Justin Chambers was given a recurring role as Marlon Brando. In October, Eric Balfour, Michael Gandolfini, and Zack Schor joined the cast, with Balfour playing production designer Dean Tavoularis.
  • Filming for the series began in July 2021 but was paused on July 29 due to a positive COVID-19 test.
  • On August 23, 2021, it was reported that plans to film at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles between August 25 and 27 were scrapped due to a labor dispute.
  • The miniseries was released on April 28, 2022, with the first three episodes available immediately, and the remaining episodes released weekly on Thursdays.
