Special 26 Movie (2013):
Special 26 (also known as Special Chabbis) is a Hindi thriller drama film, starring Akshay Kumar, Manoj Bajpayee, Kajal Aggarwal, Jimmy Sheirgill, Anupam Kher and Divya Dutta in lead roles. The film was released worldwide on 8 February 2013. It made on a total budget of ₹390 million (US$5.2 million), it grossed ₹1.26 billion (US$17 million) worldwide.
The film Special 26 is written and directed by Neeraj Pandey and produced by Shital Bhatia under Friday Filmworks and Kumar Mangat Pathak under Wide Frame Pictures in association with Viacom18 Motion Pictures. It is based on the 1987 Opera House heist where a group posing as CBI officers executed an income tax raid on the jeweller in Bombay (present-day Mumbai).
Special 26 was partially remade in Tamil as “Thaanaa Serndha Koottam” in 2018.

Based on real-life incidents that occurred in India in 1987-88, the storyline revolves around a group of con artists who pulled off many clever robberies during the 1980s and robbed famous businessmen and politicians by pretending to be the CBI or Income tax officers and conducting raids. On the pretext of conducting raids, they would take away all the black money hoarded by them.
