Storyline
PNR a respected political leader passes away while heading the chair of Chief Minister now the question remains who will take his throne? Narayana Verma one of the prominent leaders of his party considers himself to be the suitable candidate but the people of the city are in favor of Brahma who is known as Godfather to everyone and has made a place in everyone’s heart in a short time.PNR’s daughter Satyapriya who is away from politics is also a considered as suitable candidate and being a stepbrother she is against Bramha. Her husband Dev takes this as an advantage and eyes the chair of the Chief Minister so that he can conduct a drug racket in the region and also tries to convince Brahma for the same. But Brahma is against this and spoils his plans for the same following which Dev frames him in a sexual molestation case of women from his orphanage which lands Brahma in jail. While Brahma is serving his term in jail Dev plans to activate his drug racket but his plans are spoiled by Brahma’s trusted aide Masoom Bhai
About Godfather Movie
Godfather is a Telugu political action thriller directed by Mohan Raja, serving as a remake of the 2019 Malayalam film Lucifer. Produced by R. B. Choudary and N. V. Prasad under Konidela Production Company and Super Good Films, the film features Chiranjeevi in the title role alongside Salman Khan (in his Telugu debut), Nayanthara, Satya Dev, and an ensemble cast. The plot revolves around the power struggle following the death of a ruling party’s supreme leader.
The Telugu adaptation was announced in April 2020, with Sujeeth initially attached as director before exiting due to creative differences. V. V. Vinayak was considered as a replacement before Mohan Raja was confirmed in December 2020, marking his return to Telugu cinema after Hanuman Junction (2001). The film was officially launched in January 2021. Thaman S composed the music, and Nirav Shah handled cinematography. The title Godfather was revealed in August 2021.
Casting discussions began in September 2021, with Nayanthara and Satya Dev joining the film. Satya Dev was cast as the main antagonist. Gangavva, Puri Jagannadh, and Bigg Boss 4 contestant Divi Vadthya also had roles. Salman Khan was approached for a key role in August 2021, and his involvement was confirmed in November. Khan played Zayed Masood (originally portrayed by Prithviraj Sukumaran in Lucifer) and appeared in a dance number choreographed by Prabhu Deva.
Principal photography commenced on 13 August 2021 in Hyderabad. The second schedule was shot in Ooty in September. Filming was briefly halted in October as Chiranjeevi underwent hand surgery. He resumed shooting in November, but production was further delayed in January 2022 when he tested positive for COVID-19. During this time, Nayanthara filmed her portions. Chiranjeevi returned to set in February. Salman Khan completed his role in March 2022 with a week-long schedule at ND Studios, Karjat, and later filmed a song with Chiranjeevi in Hyderabad.
