Storyline
It tensely depicts what choice Gi Hun will make at the end of his despair after his rebellion against the game’s organizers failed miserably.
About Squid Game 3 TV Series
The third and final season of the South Korean dystopian survival thriller television series Squid Game, marketed as Squid Game 3, was created for television by South Korean writer and television producer Hwang Dong-hyuk. It is being produced by Netflix.
It features Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-joon, Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-shim, Jo Yu-ri, Lee David, and Roh Jae-won.

In December 2021, Hwang reported that he was in talks with Netflix for a third season of Squid Game. The third season was confirmed after season two was launched. As Hwang contemplated the idea of the ending of season three, season three was being viewed by him as the finale. He believed that with that story, he was able to tell everything that he wanted to tell in the story of Squid Game and also in the life of Seong Gi-hun as a character, and that he does not need any further stories from here.
Hwang had originally planned the second and third seasons as one, but split them because he had too many episodes for one season. After the third season’s ending, Gi-hun will be a different person again from the first two seasons and “at a very critical crossroads,” Hwang said. The season will also reveal how Hwang In-ho became the Front Man. Cheol-su, Young-hee’s giant robot doll “boyfriend”, was revealed in the post-credits scene of the final episode of season two and will appear in season three alongside a new game.
Lee Jung-jae and Lee Byung-hun will reprise their roles as Gi-hun and the Front Man, respectively, along with others returning from season two, including: Wi Ha-joon, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, Im Si-wan, Yang Dong-geun, Park Gyu-young, Jo Yu-ri, Kang Ae-shim, Lee David, and Roh Jae-won, since the season will follow the continuation of the game from the second season.
Production on the season started in July 2023 and concluded in June 2024, as it was filmed back-to-back with the second season.
Season three editing was near completion in November 2024.
