Career
2007–2012: Keeping Up with the Kardashians
In 2007, Kylie Jenner and her family—parents Kris and Caitlyn Jenner, along with siblings Kendall, Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, and Rob—rose to fame through the hit reality series Keeping Up with the Kardashians. The show became a major success for E!, leading to several spin-offs in which Jenner made guest appearances.
Beyond reality TV, Jenner and her sister Kendall co-hosted events such as the Glee: The 3D Concert Movie premiere in 2011 and The Vow premiere in 2012. That same year, they interviewed the cast of The Hunger Games at its Los Angeles premiere. Recognized for their fashion influence, the sisters were named Seventeen magazine’s “Style Stars of the Year” in 2011 and served as the magazine’s “Style Ambassadors.” In 2012, Jenner also appeared alongside Kendall and Kris in an episode of America’s Next Top Model.
2013–2014: Early ventures
In June 2014, Kylie Jenner, alongside her sister Kendall, co-hosted the Much Music Video Awards in Toronto, where Kylie made her acting debut in a promo for the show. That same year, the Jenner sisters appeared in PartyNextDoor’s “Recognize” music video and in Jaden Smith’s “Blue Ocean” video.
The sisters also co-authored the dystopian novel Rebels: City of Indra: The Story of Lex and Livia, which follows two twin girls living in a self-sustaining biosphere called Indra. The novel was met with criticism for being ghostwritten, with Maya Sloan, the actual writer, revealing that while the Jenners provided an outline, she was the one responsible for the majority of the writing. Despite the controversy, the Jenners’ creative director clarified their involvement in the project. The book received mostly negative reviews and sold only 13,000 copies in its first four months. It was followed by a sequel, Time of the Twins.
2015–2018: Rise of Kylie Cosmetics
In May 2015, Kylie Jenner faced public backlash when she and her sister Kendall introduced brother-in-law Kanye West’s performance at the Billboard Music Awards and were met with boos. That same month, an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians aired in which Kylie admitted to getting a lip augmentation, sparking widespread speculation about her enhanced lips and boosting her public image. This led to the viral “Kylie Jenner Challenge,” where people tried to suction their lips to mimic her look, though Jenner clarified that she did not use this method. She stated that she didn’t want to encourage young girls to emulate her appearance.
In August 2015, Jenner launched her first lipstick line, Kylie Lip Kit, which later rebranded as Kylie Cosmetics in February 2016. By then, the number of kits produced skyrocketed from 15,000 to 500,000. Jenner released a promotional video for her lip gloss collection, and rumors swirled about her involvement in the band Terror Jr, whose song featured in the video. However, she denied being part of the band.
In 2016, Jenner also ventured into music, making her debut by rapping on the song “Beautiful Day” with Burberry Perry, Lil Yachty, Jordyn Woods, and Justine Skye. She later appeared in PartyNextDoor’s “Come and See Me” music video. In April 2017, she made headlines by attending Rio Americano High School’s prom after a student’s date canceled on him.
By June 2017, Jenner earned $41 million, ranking her 59th on the Forbes Celebrity 100 list, making her the youngest person on the list at 19. She starred in her own reality show, Life of Kylie, which premiered in August 2017. The following year, Jenner launched Kris Cosmetics, a makeup line with her mother Kris Jenner, and collaborated again with her half-sister Kim Kardashian on the KKW x Kylie Cosmetics collection. She also introduced the Kylie Cosmetics mobile app in late 2018.
2021–present: Business and television expansions
In 2020, Jenner and her family announced that Keeping Up with the Kardashians would end after 20 seasons and nearly 15 years on air.
In August 2021, Jenner teased the launch of Kylie Swim, a swimwear line designed for women of all sizes. The line officially launched on September 17 but faced significant backlash for poor quality and impractical designs, with critics claiming the pieces were only suited for Instagram photos. Shortly after, Jenner introduced Kylie Baby, a skincare and hair product line for babies.
In January 2022, Jenner became the first woman to reach 300 million Instagram followers, surpassing Ariana Grande. Later that year, in April, she and her family returned to TV with The Kardashians, a new reality series on Hulu. The show, featuring the entire family and their partners, premiered on April 14, 2022, with its ten episodes available for streaming on Disney+. A second season followed in September 2022, and a third season premiered on May 25, 2023.
In 2024, Jenner expanded her entrepreneurial ventures by launching a clothing line, Khy, and a canned cocktail brand, Sprinter, available in flavors like black cherry, peach, grapefruit, and lime.
Philanthropy
Kylie Jenner has been actively involved in charity work throughout her career. She started by auctioning old clothing on eBay to raise funds for the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. In January 2014, she participated in a charity bowling event with her sisters and others to raise money for The Robin Hood Foundation. The following year, she took part in two of Chris Brown’s celebrity kickball games to support charity.
In December 2015, Jenner donated Christmas gifts to the Los Angeles LGBT Teen Center. In 2017, she gave $10,000 to Jordyn Woods for memorial costs after Woods’s father passed away. She also donated $500,000 from sales of her Birthday Collection to Teen Cancer America. Additionally, Jenner is an ambassador for Smile Train, a charity providing surgeries for children with cleft lips and palates. In 2016, she launched a special-edition lip kit, “Smile,” raising $159,500 for the cause.
In September 2019, Jenner donated $750,000 to Nest of Love, a feminist organization supporting young women and low-income children. In January 2020, she donated $1 million to help combat Australia’s bushfires. She also contributed $1 million for personal protective equipment for frontline healthcare workers.

The couple welcomed their daughter on February 1, 2018, and Jenner appeared in Scott’s music video for “Stop Trying to Be God.” After breaking up in September 2019, they quarantined together during the COVID-19 pandemic and rekindled their relationship. In September 2021, Jenner revealed they were expecting their second child, whom they welcomed on February 2, 2022. The couple reportedly split again in January 2023.

Kylie Jenner met Jordyn Woods in 2012 through their mutual friend, Jaden Smith. They became close friends, with Woods appearing on Jenner’s 2017 reality show Life of Kylie and in her 2018 pregnancy video. In September 2018, the two launched a collaborative collection, Kylie x Jordyn, under Kylie Cosmetics.
Their friendship ended in 2019 after Woods was involved in a cheating scandal with Tristan Thompson, Khloé Kardashian’s fiancé. As a result, Jenner discontinued her Woods-named lip kit and reduced the price to clear remaining stock.
In July 2023, Jenner and Woods were seen together for the first time in public since the scandal. In November 2023, Jenner opened up about their relationship, revealing that they “never fully cut each other off.”
