Khushi Kapoor was born on 5 November 2000 to actress Sridevi and film producer Boney Kapoor. She is the granddaughter of Surinder Kapoor and the niece of actors Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor. Her elder sister, Janhvi Kapoor, is also an actress, while her half-siblings, Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor, are from her father’s first marriage to producer Mona Shourie. She is also related to actors Sonam Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, and Mohit Marwah.
At the age of 17, Kapoor faced a personal tragedy when her mother, Sridevi, passed away due to accidental drowning in Dubai.
She completed her schooling at Mumbai’s École Mondiale World School and later pursued a year-long acting course at the New York Film Academy in 2019.
Career
Khushi Kapoor began her acting journey with the student short film Speak Up, where she played the role of Naina while studying at the New York Film Academy. She made her Bollywood debut in 2023 with The Archies, portraying Betty Cooper. Released on Netflix in December 2023, the film received mixed reviews, with Sukanya Verma of Rediff.com noting that while Kapoor had a charming presence, she needed to bring more depth to her performance.
In 2024, Kapoor starred opposite Junaid Khan in Loveyapa, a romantic comedy and remake of the Tamil film Love Today (2022), marking her first theatrical release. Reflecting on her experience, she shared that she felt more confident compared to her debut. Critical reception was divided—Vineeta Kumar of India Today criticized her Hindi diction and performance, while Titas Chowdhury of News18 observed noticeable improvement, especially in emotional scenes.
