Alisha Rai was born on January 5, 1996, in Kapan, Kathmandu, into a family with professional backgrounds in banking and hospitality—her mother worked in the banking sector and her father in the hospitality industry. A bright student from an early age, she completed her schooling with distinction at United Academy and later pursued high school at Kantipur High School, specializing in science. Despite her academic excellence, her true passion lay in the arts, particularly sociology and literature, eventually leading her to study graphic design to foster her creativity. She graduated from Herald College.
From childhood, Alisha had a deep love for dancing and acting, even though her family had no direct ties to the entertainment industry. Encouraged by her parents, she received formal training in dance and acting, which helped her hone her skills and pave the way for her career in the performing arts.

Alisha Rai’s journey in the Nepali film industry began with her role in the Rai-language movie Binayo and appearances in various music videos and comedy sketches.
