Who is Adrian Pradhan?
Adrian Pradhan (Nepali: एड्रियन प्रधान) is an Indo-Nepalese vocalist, composer and songwriter of Nepali music. He was born and raised in Kalimpong, West Bengal, India. He is the lead member of the Nepali rock band 1974 AD.
Pradhan was the lead vocalist of the band until March 2015, after which he was replaced by Rohit John Chhetri. Pradhan reunited with the band in 2019 and has been associated with 1974 AD since.

Early Life & Education
Adrian Pradhan was born and raised in Kalimpong, India. He completed his schooling at St. Augustine, Kalimpong (Class 1-4), India, and Bachelor of Arts at Kalimpong Govt. College.
His musical journey started in his school days at St. Augustine, Kalimpong, when he learned to play music and was a member of the school choir. The mouth organ and keyboard were his first instruments, but he picked up the guitar in the year 1989 and then switched to drums in the year 1995.
His first band was Eurika and this was the band with which he got his first gig, in 10th grade for a fundraising concert for Blind School, Kalimpong. Then after he was involved with the band Flames which layer toured India and was also featured in Sun Magazine (Indian Edition).
Career
Adrian Pradhan made his debut as a guitarist alongside @sherpapasher and Eric Giri on vocals, performing the song “Jati Maya.”
With 1974 AD
Pradhan moved to Kathmandu in 1994, where he spent three years teaching English and giving guitar lessons at Little Angels School before joining Galaxy Public School. It was during this time that he met the members of 1974 AD and began playing with them as a pianist in 1994. By 1998, he became a permanent member of the band, taking on roles as a vocalist, drummer, and harmonica player.

Throughout his time with 1974 AD, the band released numerous songs and albums, cementing their place as one of Nepal’s most iconic music groups. Their music resonated with millions, earning them a massive fan following. After more than two decades with the band, Pradhan decided to part ways in 2015, with Rohit John Chhetri stepping in to fill his absence.
The Original Duo
In 2016, he reunited with former 1974 AD bandmate Phiroj Shyangden to form ‘The Original Duo.’ They embarked on a tour across five states in the USA in 2016, followed by performances in Nepal, the UK, and Australia in 2017, with plans to extend the tour to Hong Kong, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. Alongside his collaborations, Pradhan has also released several solo songs, which are available on his YouTube channel, “Adrian Pradhan.”
1974 AD Reunion with Original Members
After all the ups and downs on 8 July 2019, the band announced the reunion with their original lineup, Phiroj Shyangden, Adrian Pradhan, Manoj Kumar KC, Nirakar Yakthumba, and Sanjay Shrestha.
After the reunion with their original lineup, they released the 10th studio album “Nirantarta” and so many other single songs as well as recreate the old songs. All songs are available on their official youtube channel “1974 AD.” And now they are performing live concerts and shows.
