About Aspirants Season 1 Web Series

The Director Apoorv Singh Karki was once a UPSC Aspirant himself.
The track “Dhaaga” which is originally from TVF’s previous series Yeh Meri Family (2018) was reused in the series.
The series began streaming on 7 April 2021, with five episodes that have been premiered online on TVF’s YouTube Channel and TVF Play. The season finale aired on 8 May 2021.
Aspirants has also become the top highest-rated Indian web series on IMDb 2021 with 9.7/10 based on 290 thousand votes.
The trailer of the first spin-off named SK Sir Ki Class was released on 16 February 2023. It focuses on SK, his life as UPSC teacher in Old Rajinder Nagar and his struggles to make one of his students Ashish Arora (Gagan Arora) prepare for UPSC, though he doesn’t want to.
The second spin-off Sandeep Bhaiya was premiered on Youtube on 30 June 2023. It follows the early life struggles and passion of Sandeep Singh Ohlan (Sandeep Bhaiya) and his life after becoming a PCS officer.
In October 2023, TVF announced the second season of the series, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video on 25 October 2023.

Aspirants Season 1 Storyline

Aspirants is a story of 3 friends – Abhilash, Shwetketu(SK) and Guri. The story revolves around the past and the present time where the past captures the struggle and the drama behind the making of UPSC CSE aspirants in Old Rajinder Nagar of Delhi, while the present talks about the aftermath. It is the story of three UPSC aspirant’s journey and most importantly – their friendship besides all odds!

As a UPSC Aspirant, choices are always tough when you have to select the subjects. But choices become even tougher when it’s your last attempt and you are considering changing the optional subject. Abhilash is facing a dilemma. What will he do? Make the touch choice or just go with the flow? What do his friends have to say about it?

Aspirants – Episode 2 (Teacher Sahi Hona Chahiye)

Having a good teacher is extremely important while preparing for UPSC. Abhilash knows it, but he thinks his teacher is not good enough and wants to leave his current coaching center and find a better one. But his current institute doesn’t have a fee-return policy. What will Abhilash do now? Will he continue with his current coaching center, or will he find a better teacher?

Aspirants – Episode 3 (Positive Approach Rakh Yaar)

Preparing for UPSC is challenging. It tests not only your knowledge but also your patience. It’s really important to maintain a positive approach throughout your preparation. But everyone around Abhilash notices that he lacks a positive approach in his personality, which reflects in his answers too. How will Abhilash cope with it? Will he be able to keep his approach positive?

UPSC is one of the toughest exams in the world with a success rate of less than 1%. As an Aspirant, you can’t ignore the fact that you might not crack it. Abhilash realizes this after talking to SK and Guri, they tell him everyone needs a Plan B. On the other hand, he is also being pressured by his company to end his sabbatical and join again. What will Abhilash do now? What will be his Plan B?
