Storyline
Adhiran tells the story of Adhi, a young man from a village who falls victim to a drug smuggler who presents himself as a well-known politician. The locals, unaware of the politician’s illegal dealings, trust him implicitly — Adhi included. Adhiran is a Sri Lankan Tamil-language romantic action drama film written and directed by Thinesh Kanagaraj. Sudharshan Raveendran and Michelle Dilhara play the lead roles in the film.
This marks Michelle Dilhara, a famous Sinhala cinema actress, in her first Tamil film. Other notable cast members include Elroy Amalathas, Krishan Vinothan, Shamala Niranjan, Arun Suseen, and Selvaraj Leela.
The film was officially announced on May 10, 2024, with the working title Production #1, as it is the first film of Adrian Production. The title was announced on June 1, 2024. The movie was shot in several locations in Colombo. Director Thinesh Kanagaraj informed that the entire shoot, spread across one month of pre-production, was completed within two months.
